Opis mechaniki Slayera:
Now that it's live on the PTS, I can give you a heads up on how the Enrage mechanic works. Not only will this give those of you who aren't trying out the PTS a heads up (though why wouldn't you!? Get out there!) but it'll also help clear up some general confusion with how exactly the mechanic works.
Enrage
Your Rage scales from 0-100, it looks a lot like a speedometer. Each second you are in combat you gain 5 rage.
0-24: No effect
25-74: Furious: You gain +25% damage and your Exhaustive abilities do additional damage (175% dmg instead of 125% your other abilities do while Furious). In addition, you gain a red glow.
75-100: Berserk: You gain +50% damage take a 50% penalty to your armor and resists. Your exhaustive abilities do NOT deal the additional damage. In addition, you grow slightly larger.
Note: It's probably easier to think of it in seconds rather than points. At 5 seconds you become Furious, at 15 you become Berserk.
Exhaustive Abilities: A range of abilities that can only be used while Furious or Berserk. They reset your Rage to 0. If you are Furious, they deal +175% damage instead of 125%.
**In addition, there are a few abilities that require you to be Berserk to use.
It's pretty straight forward when described this way. The confusion some might have is that Exhaustive abilities are less potent if used while Berserk. It's one of the things I've seen plenty of people confuse when we first tested the careers. The idea is that Exhaustive skills are your way of channeling your Rage, of getting rid of it. When you are Furious, you can better channel your Rage into a heavy attack, when you are Berserk you don't have the necessary focus to direct it as much, they still deplete your Rage, but they deal normal damage for being Berserk (150%).
The idea behind is that it gives you choice. Unlike a BW/Sorc who is usually better off just getting their mechanic to full and leaving it there, provided they can get some heals. The Slayer and Choppa mechanic has some different playstyles. You can choose to only allow yourself to get Furious, and frequently use Exhaustive skills in order to do a lot of burst damage without taking a defensive penalty OR you can let your Rage build up and deal more overall damage while taking damage yourself, only using your Exhaustive skills when you can't afford the extra damage taken or need their effects.
Hopefully this will avoid the confusion the Core Testers went through when first experiencing this mechanic. Overall, I really enjoy it and like that it offers different and quite viable ways to use it.
